Target Industry Study

Steadfast City recently completed a Target Industry Study for the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance in Baldwin County, Alabama, with a focus on Office, Technology, Manufacturing, and Distribution targets. Baldwin County is a Gulf Coast county with a heavy dependence on tourism and service sector jobs that has seen recent success in recruiting new industries to the county's smaller communities, leveraging the significant population growth across the county as a whole.

This report included an analysis of the region's white collar labor force and strategic advantages, the development of strategies to position the County for success in recruiting and growing high-wage jobs, and an analysis of regional and nationwide industry trends in manufacturing and warehousing. Steadfast City identified nine target sub-sectors at the intersection between white and blue collar jobs, in an effort to leverage existing relationships in these industries and develop industry clusters that create jobs across a wide spectrum of skill sets and education levels, further diversifying the local economy. Steadfast City developed strategic recommendations that will inform local real estate development, business development efforts, incentive strategy, and marketing for the local economic development organization, informing these recommendations with best practice research on comparable communities and industry clusters.

Steadfast City also assists Baldwin EDA with data analysis and marketing strategy for its broader economic development efforts.
