Steadfast City to be featured on Meg Ryan’s “empowered” docuseries
Steadfast City’s Danielle Winningham, Doug Rasmussen and Brianna Tobias recently embarked on an exciting journey to Boca Raton, Florida to shoot an episode of the docuseries "Empowered," hosted by none other than Meg Ryan. This series aims to highlight impact-driven small businesses. With Steadfast City’s fast-paced internal growth and track-record for community transformation across the nation, the Empowered team sought out the 5-year old company to be interviewed.
"Empowered" is a docuseries that airs on across multiple platforms, including public television, reaching millions of homes. It highlights impactful stories from various industries, showcasing businesses and organizations that are making significant contributions to society. Past participants include IBM Watson, Royal Caribbean, the National Civil Rights Museum, Yao Ming's Family Wines, and more, placing Steadfast City among these notable names.
From the initial outreach in August 2024 to the shoot day in December 2024, the experience felt personalized and the people were down to earth. Steadfast City and Empowered connected several times ahead of the shoot to confirm alignment, write scripts and design the set. And during shoot day, the team continued to make the unique experience feel natural. The producer, who bore an uncanny resemblance to Tom Petty, brought a unique flair to the set, making the experience even more memorable. His laid-back yet professional demeanor, the Steadfast City logo prominently displayed throughout the venue and South Florida’s beautiful, full trees all worked together to create the perfect tone for the shoot.
Doug Rasmussen, CEO, kicked off the interviews with an insightful overview of the mission, history, and goals of Steadfast City. Danielle Winningham, Associate Director of Economic Development Planning, followed, highlighting the firm’s identity as humble experts. Finally, Anthony Norris, CEO of Worldwide Label and Packaging, delivered a heartfelt testimonial, illuminating his long-standing relationship with the Steadfast City team. This trio’s familiarity with the brand made the shoot efficient and authentic, with minimal retakes. The Empowered crew played a crucial role in maintaining the story's alignment with the mission, ensuring the most brand-aligned backgrounds and b-roll props were used.
Overall, the shoot was a resounding success. The Steadfast City team is eagerly awaiting the 2025 release and repeated showings of the "Empowered" episode on public TV stations across the United States.
