Jacob is a Commercial Real Estate professional with a finance and development focus. He uses his joint tax, marketing, and incentives experience to help clients redevelop historic structures and vacant properties. In his role at Advantes, Jacob managed seven projects, totaling $100MM+ in incentives. These projects added immense entertainment, workforce, and living opportunities to the underutilized Laclede’s Landing in St. Louis City. Throughout his career, he has led business retention and expansion projects that have resulted in over 4,620 jobs created/retained and $615M in new capital investment. For each project, Jacob keeps current on the politics, history, and values of the area and recalls those insights throughout his consultation.
Growing up 20 miles from the Illinois River, Jacob was fascinated with varying topographies and architectures, and the people and cultures that were exposed to them. The tangibility of a finished development - where people can eat, work, shop, and live - became Jacob's professional driver. He managed the real estate tax incentive strategy for Save-A-Lot food stores, negotiating and securing over $4.35M in economic incentives for office, retail, and industrial properties. He uses sociologically-forward thinking to accurately advise client projects on how communities will interact with changes in infrastructure, transportation, and workforce.
